OUR HISTORY

The Canadian Union of Public Employees is the largest union in Canada and New Brunswick. We are the largest affiliate with the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) and the New Brunswick Federation of Labour (NBFL).

At the pan-Canadian level, CUPE has more than 670,000 members. These members, through their respective local unions, exchange important expertise on the fight against privatization, outsourcing, health and safety issues, collective bargaining, etc., This is done while maintaining a high degree of autonomy that allows local to have an active and strong local union life.

CUPE has close to 30,000 NB members in over 200 locals, large and small, in every corner of the province.
